Mr Lam Zipeng has a bachelor's degree in Arts (Guzheng, Ruan) from the China Conservatory of music, Beijing, China. He also has a grade 8 in piano by the associated board of the royal schools of music, UK.

He has won awards in music competitions in Malaysia and China.

He is currently the Guzheng instructor in various junior colleges and secondary schools in Singapore, as well as the conductor for Chinese orchestra of Foon Yew High School, Malaysia.

He is also a freelance guest musician of Singapore Chinese Orchestra.
