Same year, Hui was enrolled in Tianjin Conservatory of Music Middle school. However, she decided to come to Singapore alone to pursue academic studies afterwards.Through the academic years, Hui was the principal player of Chinese Orchestra Guzheng ensemble in Temasek Polytechnic and National University of Singapore and has performed during annual concerts, school events, and community/graduation ceremonies such as 2013 Lunar New Year by Hsinghai Art Association, 16th Inter Racial Inter Religious (IRIR) Harmony Nite with President Halimah Yacob and Mr Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee as guests-of-honour in 2019.
In 2014, Hui began to teach with her teaching philosophy that teachers should teach students in accordance with their aptitude and shouldn't follow the same pattern. Over the years, she has coached over hundred students learning Guzheng and elementary music theory. Hui's excellent communication and interpersonal skills allowed her to integrate, interact and connect with everyone ranging from toddlers of mere 4 years old and adults up to 70s. Hui was awarded Best Teaching Prize at the 12th Zhongxin international music competition. Guzheng, more than just a musical instrument, brings cultural exchanges and shapes a way of life.
