Tip #7: Prevent your Erhu from slipping

The most conventional ways of preventing Erhu sliding off would be purchasing an anti slip mat. These anti slips mats could be purchase at any craft store or hardware store near you.

There are two main ways to do so. You could either place the mat below your Erhu when playing or paste the mat onto the Erhu. For the latter method, you would then need to cut the anti slip mat accordingly to fit your Erhu.

It is also recommend cut out the circumference of the area when you intend to paste the mat onto the Erhu. This is to allow amendment or repair to be done at ease when needed.

Some Erhu makers also come up with their own ways to combat with this slippery situation. For instance, by craving small little grooves at the base of the Erhu to substitute the anti slip needed.
