Chinese New Year Drum Opening Performance

Our EM Drum ensemble was invited to do a drum opening for Keppel Corp on the 11th day of Chinese New Year. They had a luncheon and wanted something to signify the start of the event and also to welcome their higher management.

Because of the space constraint of the stage, we had 3 drummers instead of the usual 4 drummers. The piece that we chose is an except from the traditional piece 龙腾虎跃. We wanted a more thumping sound so we used 3 lion drums instead of the usual flower pot drum and paigu.

The drums inside an enclosed area really gives you an adrenaline rush.
